We Survived!

Well, 2,000 miles and too many car hours later, we're here! We left Spokane Monday the 16th and arrived here in St. Louis on Monday the 23rd. We stopped in Salt Lake for a day and got to see my family, as well as fill our truck with hand-me-downs from four different houses! Then we headed to Colorado and spent three days at Luke's family cabin, which was a nice, relaxing break in the middle of a chaotic week. From there we continued east, stopping at a few places in Kansas where Luke's dad grew up and where his ancestors are buried. We saw our first fireflies in Kansas. Abby is a huge fan of those! And finally . . . we arrived and moved into our home.

Thankfully, the trip went just as smoothly as possible, aside from a few meltdowns (mostly from the kids . . . :) ) and an overall feeling of our lives being completely discombobulated. Things are still a little chaotic, but we're glad to be here! Abby has already made some friends in the neighborhood, and she and Katie are both fascinated by the little cottontail rabbits that hop around among the adjoining backyards. We'll have pictures and updates when we get our computer set up at home . . . until then, enjoy the summer, wherever you are!

Congratulations on the move and a steady home. . . .for a few years, at least!

Yeah-I am so glad you made it alright! You know Omaha and St Louis aren't that far apart-maybe we will get a chance to visit each other sometime in the next 4 years! I am so glad to have gotten to know you this past year in Spokane!

It was quite a trip!! We are recovering in the quiet and peace of Aspen Lodge, but miss all of you so much. I hope you are getting all settled and that discombobulated feeling eases soon. Looking forward to updates...Take care.

Glad to hear that your trip went well. Are you far from all this rain and flooding out there? Can't wait to see pictures of the house.

Glad you guys made it! Sounds like one of those weeks you love having behind you, not ahead of you! Hang in there with all the craziness.

That is a long drive! We just got back from AZ and it was the longest 10 hours in a car (we even split in two days) I will NEVER do that again. :-) Glad you made it safe and sound! Good luck with everything!

Moving is so hard on everyone and we only moved an hour from Salt Lake. I am glad you are enjoying your new home.

I guys, I'm glad you made it. I will have to sent you some pictures I took of the girls at the cabin because there are some really cute ones. I put some on blog so you might be able to pull them off that. I hope baby boy is doing ok, we can't wait to meet him. We are really happy we were able to spend some time with you guys at the cabin. I hate living so far away. Love you.
