March has been quite a fun, busy month. The lack of blog posts accurately reflects the amount of "down time" I've had. But I am so grateful for visitors! It has meant so much to have family and friends come see us in our new life here in Spokane. After my parents left, my friend Dipti Parekh came to see us for a couple of days--all the way from Toronto, Canada! When I was eight, my family moved to Toronto for two years for my dad's radiology fellowship. Dipti and I were in the same third-grade class and became friends. That was 24 years ago, and we have been pen pals ever since! We have seen each other about five times over the years, and she was one of my bridesmaids. Other than that, we've just stayed friends through letters, calls, and e-mails. She is a wonderful person and has been one of my very most loyal friends throughout my life. It was SO fun to see her and to introduce her to Abby and Katie! Here is a picture of Dipti with Abby at the park. We had camera problems (i.e. our camera fell in the pond while we were feeding the ducks!) while she was here, so I'm hoping to get more pictures (copies) of her visit later.
The following week, my sisters Martha and Jennie, with Martha's daughter, Marian, came to visit! It was awesome to see them and to show them around Spokane. Marian is one week older than Katie, and those two were hilarious together! We spent most of our time laughing at their antics and at Abby's "supervision" of them. Here are a few pictures of our adventures:

Martha, Jennie, Marian, and Katie at Riverfront Park downtown.
Marian and Katie at the children's museum.
Martha, Jennie, and me by the Spokane River.
The official tour guides: Abby, Carrie, Luke, and Katie.

Thanks for the pictures you sent to my email! We had such a great time. I'll look through ours and send you some. Thanks for being such great hosts to us!
You and Luke never change, but I can't believe how much bigger the girls are! I keep looking at Katie and thinking, "That's how big Scotty will be when we're leaving Spokane, too."
The girls look beautiful in their Easter picture. Hats off to you for getting them so adorable before church! That's a tough thing sometimes.
We miss having you next door!
How fun! Those were all my favorite haunts, and I recognize the park in the top picture, too!
Sounds very busy and very fun. That is so neat that you have such a special and loyal friend!
