Abby's world currently revolves around these fuzzy, little animals called Calico Critters. She spends every possible minute arranging them in fun ways and imagining scenarios (sometimes soap-opera-like ones) for their lives. One of her favorite parts of our camping trip in September was making bark boats for the Critters to sail on. She always has a new Critter stapled to her chore chart, which she spends a few weeks earning.These Critters seem to be exceptionally knowledgeable and opionionated, as far as toys go. Abby often says, "My Critters told me that" when we ask her where she learned something, or "My Critters said that I can't" when we ask her to do something she doesn't want to do. It's an interesting phenomenon! (As a not-so-incidental side note, if I had known about Calico Critters at her age, my world would have revolved around them too!)

Where do you get those? I remember playing with them when I was younger.
To answer Becky's question, you can find these at some toy stores (in SLC, at Nifty Cool Toys in Foothill Village or at the Red Balloon on 33rd South). They are also sold on several web sites, including Amazon.com.
I love the critter boat and the arrangement around the pillow. She has quite the collection. And Katie looks so cute standing. Marian is so excited to play with her over Christmas!
I want to buy her some and send them to her but I'm afraid she has them all. I want to see the girls so bad, I don't want them to not know who we are at Christmas. We show Emie pictures of everyone and say their names as we go, she might be too little to understand but any little thing help I guess. The girls sure looked cute in their Halloween costumes. Did you take them out trick or treating. I could go on and on but I won't I'll stop and just give you a call. Love you.
Hey. I just saw Calico Critters for the first time today, at a toy store in "Santa's Workshop," a Christmas theme park near Colorado Springs. They were expensive! Hopefully you get them for less! Anyway, I just thought you'd be interested to know that they're in Santa's special shop.
