Alex - age 18 months

Aren't I lucky? I get to hang out with this precious little dude all day, every day. I'm so proud of him for saying his first sentence yesterday: "Bye-bye, ball." Cute!

Abby is 6!

Abby turned 6 years-old on April 18th! What a grown-up little lady she is becoming. When did our tiny, little Sweet Pea turn into a fabulous reader, inquisitive budding scientist, creative artist, social butterfly, and bouncing bundle of long-legged energy? She continues to stretch us and teach us, and we love our girl!

We celebrated on Saturday with a mommy-daughter date to Baskin-Robbins for her free ice-cream scoop, followed by a family Littlest Pet Shop party. Despite the fact that I dropped the cake on the floor while I was frosting it and one of the toys was melted by a candle, things went quite smoothly! I thought the highlight of the party was playing mouse-mouse-hamster (a variation of duck-duck-goose) outside. I'm sure Abby thought the highlight was opening her presents!
By the way, Alex did come to the party . . . but wasn't at all excited about posing for pictures. :)

One of the Miracles of Spring

The girls and I have been watching this robin's nest in our carport, just as we did last spring. The baby birds hatched just a few days ago and are still looking a little alien-like . . . but cute. Now we're on the lookout for baby bunnies, my personal favorite!

Alex's First Steps

Alex is working on a new trick . . . look at him go! He is still most comfortable if he's holding someone's hand, and if he really wants to get somewhere fast, he crawls . . . but he's coming along. Go, Alex!

Our Little Scientist--Abby

The past few weeks Abby (and Dad) have been working on a science fair project for school. The "EGGS"-periment involved boiling eggs, placing them in a hollowed out styrofoam ball, and throwing them from a ladder. What could be more fun than that? Our goal--to determine which is stronger--raw or boiled eggs. Abby's project was chosen to go onto the city science fair next month. She was very excited!
